Maharashtra. This goat breeds are mainly found in Osmanabad Ahamednagar, Latur,
Parbhani, Sholapur and other surrounding areas of Maharashtra. Now Osmanabadi
goats are spread in other states as well. Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and
Karnataka have good population of Osmanabadi goats. The best part of these

The other specialty of Osmanabadi goat breed is, they can fit in stall feeding,
semi-stall feeding and open field grazing. The goat growers select these goats

Sirohi Goat Breed Details
Sirohi Goat Information:
This goat breed is native to Sirohi district of Rajasthan
state. This goat breed is widely distributed in surrounding area. Ajmer,
Jaipur, Tonk, Bhilwara and adjoining areas in state of Gujarat are very famous
for Sirohi goat breed raising/rearing. The usual flock size of Sirohi goat in
these areas varies from region to region and ranges from 50 to 250.The Sirohi
goat breed is also found in the state of Uttar Pradesh on large scale
commercial lines for meat production.
Performance of Sirohi Goat Breed:- The Sirohi goat is
raised for both meat and dairy (milk) purpose. However, milk production is
relatively less in this goat breed. On an average, each Sirohi female goat yields
about 0.5 to 0.7 kg milk per day. The lactation period in Sirohi goat is about
4 to 4.5 months. An average of 80 kg milk yield can be obtained during this
