Anglo Nubian Goat Info Guide


Anglo Nubian goat is a multi-purpose breed developed in England by crossing British goats with bucks of African and Indian origin (Jamunapari). Anglo-Nubian goats are also called as "Nubian" and it is the best suited for dairy purpose and very well adapted to hot climatic conditions. Barbari Goat Profile Information Guide


Barbari goat breeds are found in in the districts of Rajasthan, Agra and Aligarh districts of Uttar Pradesh, and Bharatpur.Barbari goats are small animals with compact body. There is wide variation in coat color, but white with small light brown patches is the most common. Ears are short, tubular, and almost double with the slit opening in front, erect, directed upward and outward. Boer Goat Farming Details

Jamunapari Goat information Guide

Sirohi Goat Breed Details

This goat breed is native to Sirohi district of Rajasthan state. This goat breed is widely distributed in surrounding area. Ajmer, Jaipur, Tonk, Bhilwara and adjoining areas in state of Gujarat are very famous for Sirohi goat breed raising/rearing. The usual flock size of Sirohi goat in these areas varies from region to region and ranges from 50 to 250.The Sirohi goat breed is also found in the state of Uttar Pradesh on large scale commercial lines for meat production.

Performance of Sirohi Goat Breed:- The Sirohi goat is raised for both meat and dairy (milk) purpose. However, milk production is relatively less in this goat breed. On an average, each Sirohi female goat yields about 0.5 to 0.7 kg milk per day. The lactation period in Sirohi goat is about 4 to 4.5 months.
