Barbari Goat Profile Information Guide


Barbari goat breeds are found in in the districts of Rajasthan, Agra and Aligarh districts of Uttar Pradesh, and Bharatpur.Barbari goats are small animals with compact body. There is wide variation in coat color, but white with small light brown patches is the most common. Ears are short, tubular, and almost double with the slit opening in front, erect, directed upward and outward. Both male Barbari and Female Barbari goats have twisted horns, medium in length and directed upward and backward. This breed horn length is about 12cm. Male Barbari goats have a large thick beard. Boer Goat Farming Details


When it comes to Boer breed, this goat breed was developed in South Africa in the early 1900s for meat production. The name "Boer" is derived from the Dutch word (Afrikaans) which means "farmer". Generally, Boer goats are famous for their meat production and the commercial breeding of Boer goat is very much successful and the breeding season usually starts in august and runs through the month of December. Selecting a quality buck is more important for commercial meat production. Medium-sized does are normally preferred, as they produce the same number of kids, but require less feed to do so. Boer goat breeds are found in various parts of south India; Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Read more here.
